Hazbin Hotel: Lucifer Morningstar TUBBZ (First Edition)

My duck is perfect, I love it!

I am SO glad that I managed to get him! Resellers/scalpers in Japan had him priced obscenely high on Mercari (like up to four times the original price after currency conversion at one point, yikes), but I wanted him so badly, and I'm SO glad that I managed to catch him on a restock that sold out super fast (he was sold out again minutes after I bought him). Pure luck thanks to opening my emails at the exact right time, but I'm SO happy!!!

He's exactly as pictured and the craftsmanship is perfect. Even the rubber duck that he's holding has details which is so charming and adorable. I adore how it has his ring on its wing too. The paint is even and vivid and it has a solid weight to it. I thought I'd be able to squeeze it and make it squeak like "traditional" rubber ducks, but it's actually quite hard and sturdy, not soft and rubbery. Not a complaint, as I'm kind of glad that it's not a traditional rubber duck as that will likely mean that it will keep its shape and colours for longer without deterioration over time. The texture is nice as well, very smooth. It's got a hole in the bottom, so I'm not sure if this means if it can float and go in the tub/shower with you, and I'm not particularly keen to try just in case, but I do love that he came with his own little bathtub that has "Hazbin Hotel" on the side. What a cute detail!

I'm very happy with the design, as you can look at the rubber duck and immediately recognise that it's Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel, and I highly recommend this for fans of the show. Whether it's kept as a collectible on the shelf, or taken out of its container and brought into the bathroom, it really does bring a smile. How could you not when you have a rubber duck??? Love, love, love him!

I also own Alastor, but unfortunately I bought him through Mercari where somebody was reselling him second-hand (but still in perfect condition, and thankfully at a price that was sensible, and funnily enough brand new Lucifer duck was more expensive due to the currency conversion between GBP and JPY plus the shipping). I love both of my ducks very much and both are of equal and excellent quality.

He also arrived super fast, so it more or less justified the international shipping cost. I had no extra costs, but I did purchase only him, so thankfully no surprise customs/import taxes in Japan for one duck. The packaging was also very properly done and more than enough padding was used to make sure that he wasn't damaged on the way here. Great care was taken to make sure he made it to me safely and I'm grateful!

Overall, I'm extremely happy with him, and with how popular of a character he is, I truly hope that he gets brought back for other fans to love and enjoy. Even if not in the "first edition" collection, I hope he's returned as a permanent staple that can be purchased from TUBBZ, as this show (at the time of writing this review) is only two seasons in and has another three seasons to go (HOPEFULLY) and is only growing in popularity, ESPECIALLY here in Japan, so I would love future new fans to be able to buy him too if they discover the show at a later time. I hope that he can be stocked in stores here for us to purchase in local currency once that happens too!

I think this duck design would also look utterly charming as a mini PVC duck keychain so that I could have a teeny tiny little duck Lucifer keychain to clip onto my bag and take with me or put my keys on him.
